Blueberry Pockets {swoon}

Today I want to talk about one of my most favorite diapers, Blueberry! I am so in love with their pockets. This particular one is an Abby's Lane exclusive, Strut. Yes, you may swoon ;). These diapers are well made, made in the USA, and are just gorgeous! 

They come with microfiber inserts, and they are the thickest inserts I've ever gotten with a diaper. I really am a fan of them, well, as much as one can be of microfiber. 

I like that they have PUL tabs, unlike some other brands that use a different fabric for the tabs. These tabs will not wick at all (which is an issue we have at nights with some other brands). 

The inner on these is slightly stretchier than some of the other inners I have seen. These are seriously so easy to stuff. 

Blueberry does have a higher price point, but I think that it is worth it to support a good product & company in the USA. 

Thirstiest AIO

Thirstiest AIO are super cute! These two below are two of the valentine prints that they have released (Straight to My Heart & Sweetheart). They have a soaker flap that is made out of microfiber. I like that it is detached on one side for faster drying. They have two rows of snaps for the closure which I like. Over all I think these are a good AIO. My favorite? No. But they are decent for the price. I found that they did not absorb enough for us (or we could only wear for a short amount of time). You could always add more absorbency under the flap though. 

I think my favorite thing about Thirsties is just how cute they are! I am in LOVE with their woodland design series. I wish I had some to take pictures of!

Laundry Day!

It's laundry day! 

I LOVE laundry day. I know, I'm weird. I just can't resist seeing all my pretty diapers folded and nicely stacked ;). 

In this wash I have a few different brands/styles.

Fox - Buttons

Arrows - Christies AIO

Hearts, Bears, & Snowmen - Blueberry pockets

and then everything else is BumGenius 4.0/5.0

They say that  you should wash diaper laundry every 2-3 days. I normally wash every third day.

Drying my Freetimes!

This is an older picture, but a goodie. I love to hang my Freetimes like this as to not stretch out the elastics. You can kind of see to the right of the picture how I hang my pockets - sideways so that no weight is being put on the elastics. Sure, it *may* not make a difference, but at least I know that any relaxation isn't based on how I dry them ;). 

On that note.... I've hardly ever had any bad elastics. Most of the ones I've had were second hand diapers that I fixed the elastics in after I purchased.

Smart Bottoms Review

Good Morning!

Today lets talk about one of my favorite brands, Smart Bottoms. First off, they are made in the USA. I LOVE supporting companies who support the USA. They are also said to be extremely small business friendly - and that is something I love as well. I'm all about small businesses! 

What I love about Smart Bottoms is how trim, absorbent, and cute they are. They are a AIO made with organic cotton. For awhile my daughter broke out with any diaper that was not made of organic cotton. Thankfully within a few months she got over whatever it was causing it. But, during this time is when I fell in love with Smart Bottoms. 

These fit nice and high, unlike some other brands {cough, Best Bottoms}. I like that they have great coverage. They have a narrower crotch than some of my other brands, and I am a fan! They have rolled elastics which, as long as your remember to roll them in, are great. I never once got red marks with these. The elastics are super stretchy and held up very well for us. 

These come in so many pretty colors and prints, it can be hard to resist buying them! They are on the higher end of the price scale, but I would say worth every penny. They currently retail for $29, but can be found on sale for $24-$25 often. 

One last thing I love about Smart Bottoms is that they retain their value pretty well. At this point you could easily sell a diaper for $24. If it is a sought after print you could sell for much more. 

Over all, I give these diapers A+!

Flip Cloth Diapers!

Welcome back! It has been way too long since I've posted.... its almost embarrassing! Today I am reviewing the Flip cloth diaper. Let me just say, I LOVE the Flip system! It is an Ai2 system meaning that it has two parts to it - the cover and then whatever you choose to use on the inside. I usually will use a prefold or flat on the inside that is tri-folded. The nice thing about Ai2 is that you can reuse the cover over and over again throughout the day. Flips are great for nights because you can stuff them really full and because of the stretchy tabs you can still get a good "tight" fit around the waist. For the day time I love them because stuffed with a FST (flour sack towel) or flat they can be super trim under pants.
